Quadrise inks new agreement with Licella for low-carbon fuel venture

Quadrise PLC (AIM:QED) and Licella Holdings have mapped out a clearer route towards marine engine testing for low-carbon fuels combining Licella’s bio-oil with Quadrise’s bioMSAR technology.
The amended joint development agreement sets a non-binding but more specific testing programme. Final laboratory work on refined Licella hydrothermal liquefaction bio-oils is planned for the second half of 2026, followed by initial marine diesel-engine pilot tests if successful.
The partners would then seek to carry out larger-scale third-party engine testing before advancing to commercial vessel trials. Licella will provide its bio-oil production expertise, while Quadrise contributes maritime market access and fuel-development experience.
The companies have conducted laboratory testing in Australia and the UK since signing their original agreement in March 2025. Licella’s technology converts biomass residues and biowaste, including wood and agricultural waste, into sustainable bio-oil that can be blended or refined into liquid fuels.
