EMV Capital: AMR Bio targets FDA meeting to clear path for XF-73 Phase 3 trial

EMV Capital (AIM:EMVC, FRA:NTK1) CEO Dr Ilian Iliev and AMR Bio chair Nigel Brooksby joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion to discuss progress on XF-73, the antimicrobial drug candidate advancing towards Phase 3, and the milestones that could define the company's next stage of growth.
Iliev said EMV Capital (AIM:EMVC) is supporting AMR Bio through its Venture Build programme, combining financial backing with hands-on value creation, and believes the next nine to twelve months could represent an important inflection point for the asset.
Brooksby outlined preparations for a Type B meeting with the FDA to discuss the final Phase 3 programme, saying regulatory alignment would significantly de-risk development and increase pharma industry interest. He highlighted XF-73's advantages over the current standard of care, Mupirocin: "XF is the new gold standard, will deliver a 90% reduction in Staphylococcus aureus in just four doses over 24 hours. And we've clearly demonstrated zero resistance after over 55 passages. So it's not just an incremental improvement, it's a different weapon entirely."
Iliev added that reaching Phase 3 readiness within two years of formation would validate EMV Capital's Venture Build model, with capital-light funding approaches already under consideration for the Phase 3 programme.
