Lumos Diagnostics enters US commercial growth phase targeting a billion dollar opportunity

Lumos Diagnostics Holdings Ltd specializes in rapid, cost-effective and complete point-of-care diagnostic test solutions to help healthcare professionals more accurately diagnose and manage medical conditions.

The company offers customized assay development and manufacturing services for point-of-care tests and proprietary digital reader platforms. It also directly develops, manufactures and commercializes proprietary, Lumos-branded point-of-care tests that target infectious and inflammatory diseases.

Lumos Diagnostics Holdings Ltd (ASX:LDX, OTC:LDXHF) finished the fourth quarter of FY26 with strong full-year growth from its flagship FebriDx® rapid diagnostic test, expanding US commercial adoption and closing the period with US$15.4 million in cash.

Unaudited FY26 revenue increased 6% on the previous corresponding period to US$13.2 million, supported by an 875% surge in FebriDx revenue to US$3.9 million as orders increased under Lumos’ exclusive US distribution agreement with PHASE Scientific.

The company recorded a US$2.7 million operating cash inflow during the June quarter, compared with a US$1.7 million outflow a year earlier, following higher customer receipts and milestone payments associated with the US regulatory and clinical development of FebriDx. 

Chief executive officer Doug Ward said commercial adoption had tracked ahead of expectations since the CLIA waiver was secured.

Together, the four priority accounts represent more than 430 potential locations and an internally estimated minimum of 2.6 million acute respiratory infection presentations annually.

Lumos Diagnostics Holdings Ltd (ASX:LDX, OTC:LDXHF) has received a A$709,837 cash refund under the Australian Government’s Research and Development Tax Incentive, strengthening its capacity to advance its rapid point-of-care diagnostic technology platforms.

The refund relates to eligible research and development expenditure for the FY25 financial year ended June 30, 2025, and is mainly associated with work on Lumos’ proprietary portable handheld and disposable reader technology platforms.

Together, the four priority healthcare accounts represent more than 430 potential locations and an estimated 2.6 million acute respiratory infection patient visits annually, supporting Lumos' strategy of targeting the 100 largest U.S. urgent care groups, which account for roughly 40% of all urgent care sites nationwide.

One of the company's latest customers, a leading regional urgent care provider owned by a major U.S. health system, has agreed to deploy FebriDx across its network of more than 30 clinics. Lumos estimates the network treats approximately 200,000 acute respiratory infection cases each year, where FebriDx is expected to improve respiratory triage, support antibiotic stewardship, and standardize clinical workflows.
